This article applies to campervans in Australia and New Zealand. If you are renting a campervan in the USA, please refer to your in-vehicle manual.
The fresh water tank holds 30L. As your vehicle travels all around the country and is refilled everywhere, there is no way to guarantee the quality of the water, so we do not recommend you use this as drinking water, just to wash up.
The fresh water tank input is found on the driver’s side of the vehicle and you can fill it up at most campgrounds and some petrol stations. To fill up the water tank, place the hose inside the input and fill up slowly.
- For Australian vehicles, you will know the tank is full when water starts coming out under the van (overflow).
- In New Zealand vehicles, water will come out of the breather hole when the tank is full.
Tip: To avoid air bubbles from blocking the system (if your campervan has an electrical pump), we recommend running the pump and the tap at the same time as you are filling it up.
New Zealand vehicles only: as a rule of thumb, we recommend emptying the grey water tank before refilling your fresh water tank. Overfull grey water tanks may cause ‘blocked’ sinks and a bad smell.
