Campervan Tips:
-
Battery Care:
- Charge every2-3 nights for optimal battery health.
- Solar panels may extend this to every 4 nights. (Weather and usage dependent).
- Avoid overloading the battery while free camping. (Your fridge will use the most battery).
-
Driving:
- Relax and enjoy the ride! Aim for 80-95km/h (50-55mph) for good fuel economy.
-
Fridge and Freezer:
- Don't overload the fridge to prevent warmth and condensation.
- The freezer is for chilling, not freezing. Use a bag for ice and keep it on top of items in the cooler.
- Minimize opening the fridge to maintain coldness.
-
Visibility:
- Keep curtains open in the rear and driver's side for better visibility of obstacles and other vehicles. (Our most common accident cause is customers reversing or turning into fixed objects).
-
Water and Air:
- Always refill the water tank before leaving a campsite.
- Gas stations typically have air pumps for tire inflation.
-
Packing:
- Pack light! Large suitcases won't fit well in the campervans limited space.
-
Western Australia Travel:
- Be prepared for dry conditions by carrying plenty of water.
- Drive responsibly on unsealed roads. Don't take the campervan where you wouldn't take your own car. Respect the vehicle and other renters. Plan your trip carefully to avoid issues.
-
General Tips:
- Have fun and enjoy the freedom of campervan travel!
- Take it slow, you're on vacation! There is no need to speed.
- Double-check you have taken your tap adapters before leaving campsites.
- Keep a small bag with essentials (wallet, passport, phone) readily accessible.
- Always close top windows and remove the power cable before driving.
- Ask your passenger to check for clearance when reversing.
- Avoid heavy luggage in the top bunk to prevent damage to cargo clips. (They are not designed to hold your baggage).
- Take regular breaks while driving.
