Our Toyota HiAce campervans can use up to 1 litre of engine oil every 1,000 km. This is within the normal range for these vehicles, so a falling oil level does not always mean there is a fault.
What to do
- Check the oil level regularly, with the engine cold and the van on flat ground.
- Keep an eye on how far you have driven since your last check.
- Top up if the level is low. Engine oil is available from most petrol stations and auto parts stores.
Engine oil is a consumable, so it is normally at your cost.
When to contact us
Contact Customer Care if the van is using more than 1 litre every 1,000 km, you can see oil leaking, or an oil warning light comes on. If the oil warning light comes on while driving, stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
