The microwave is powered by 120-volt AC power and will only operate when plugged into shore power. Once plugged into shore power the lights on the microwave will light up and function normally.
Please do not store any times in the microwave.

The FDA reiterates that food completely covered in aluminum foil should not be put in the microwave. The electric fields in microwaves cause charges to flow through metal. Thin pieces of metal like aluminum foil are overwhelmed by these currents, causing them to heat up so quickly that they can ignite.
