Don't Chip Out! How to Handle a Windscreen Chip with Travellers Autobarn
Chips on your windscreen can be a worry, but rest assured, modern windshields are made from strong laminated glass designed to withstand minor impacts.
What to Do:
-
Pull Over Safely: If you notice a chip on your windscreen, pull over to a safe location as soon as possible.
-
Take a Clear Photo: While maintaining safety, take a close-up photo of the chip. For best results, include a piece of paper. This will allow us to assess and determine whether you are fine to continue. More often than not, we will advise you to continue. Windscreens are strong and we don't want to disrupt your holiday.
-
Email us the Essentials: Attach a photo, if possible, include your vehicle's license plate and your country of hire. Please also let us know your location. This helps us quickly identify your rental agreement.
-
Contact Us: Send the photos to Travellers Autobarn as soon as possible. The sooner we know about the chip, the sooner we can advise you on the best course of action. Our email is customercare@travellers-autobarn.com
What We'll Do:
Upon receiving your photos and details, our team will assess the chip's size and location. In many cases, minor chips can be repaired upon your return. We will advise you of the next steps.
Relax and Enjoy the Ride!
